HME Ahrens-Fox Adds Clean Cab Options With Active Air Purification

PHI Cell Technology within the Active Air System Eliminates >99% of germs, microbes, viruses, bacteria and VOCs in air and on surfaces.

Wyoming, MI (May 24, 2022) – HME Ahrens-Fox (HME or the Company), a privately owned manufacturer of custom-built fire apparatus, has expanded its Clean Cab offering to sanitize the atmosphere inside the cab and protect firefighters from microbials including a broad collection of viruses, bacteria and VOCs.

They system is based on PHI Cell Technology (PhotoHydrolonization) and produces a controlled level of microscopic Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) in the cab, but not a level above OSHA limits for H2O2.

The Active Air Technology stands apart from other air purification products at such as Ionizers that require a two-step process: (i) making airborne bacteria and viruses heavier, or sticky, (ii) drawing the molecules through a filter. The Active Air System does not require that contaminants be drawn inside the system to be neutralized.

Many discerning organizations trust PHI Cell Technology to treat air and surfaces as well as protect their associates and the communities they serve.

• Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This HME solution to a Clean Cab atmosphere meets Fleet Management requirements.

• Non-corrosive and no UV exposure
• PHI Cell Technology does not damage interior surfaces or electronic components
• A small footprint: 16” (L) x 5” (W) x 6” (H)
• Multiple location options: system is proven effective at when mounted on the overhead panel, behind the driver’s or officer’s seat, on the engine cover, or B-pillar
• Limited maintenance: only annual maintenance is needed and consists of replacing a single cell
• Simplicity of operation: the always-on design requires little to no driver interaction

“The need to raise the level of protection offered the firefighter has increased dramatically and all we have been through during this COVID-19 era has only accelerated the need to provide additional Clean Cab safeguards,” said Bill Doebler, Vice President, Sales at HME Ahrens-Fox.

PHI Cell Technology has been broadly accepted as an effective solution in medical, residential, marine, hospitality, commercial and government applications to protect against fifteen (15) different viruses, bacteria, odors, and VOCs:
